long user/reader,but new to this part of the board...
im considering an iphone and breaking it into a different carrier. i'd try the search engine, but the ps3 browser isnt letting me see the results so pardon the annoyance of having to answer a question asked quite often by so many before me.
Well, let's see. There are 2 big GSM providers in the U.S. Duvi already mentioned that you won't be on 3G if you go to T-Mobile. That only leaves one. It's not rocket science to figure this out.
I am helping. It's not like you are going to take the iPhone to Sprint, Verizon, MetroPCS, Cricket, Boost, US Cellular, Nextel, Alltel or Revol. You are left with T-Mobile, where you will not have 3G service, and AT&T, where you will. You may have a local GSM provider in your area, so you can check that.
You may think that I am being a ****, but I am not. I am simply stating what you obviously cannot see.
Well, that was unexpected, but I appreciate your comments. Were you hoping to find some sort of magical carrier that would provide 3G for an unlocked iPhone? Maybe add on a super cheap unicorn data plan for like $3 and maybe rainbow insurance for 50 cents?
There is no sarcasm in my posts. I am pretty blunt, and you can see that if you read my first post in this thread. It doesn't change any further down either.

What a rip off! My unicorn carrier is charging me $10.00 a month.
Only a little. I got that off my chest, but I'm still paying too much.
P.S. AT&T is your only option for 3G gsm service for your IPhone in the USA. Sorry.
Yeah, I tried to tell the OP that before, but they didn't want to hear that I guess. Maybe if it comes from you, they will accept the fact. Then again, maybe not.
if i am no longer asking about the 3g,it means i got it....
im referring to his attempt at being funny. now lets all stop tryna' sound so cool on a forum. i asked a question and i already got the answer.

OK, I will break it down for you. Regardless if you want 3G or not, AT&T and T-Mobile are your only choices, unless you find a local, small GSM provider that is regional only.
You are making this way harder than you need to. You have 2 choices. Pick one, and be done with this thread already.
I see no humor in this entire thread. I see someone who is getting mad because they don't agree with what is posted.
