ok, so im in the process of pre-ordering the new iphone 3gs. i was wondering what would be an appropriate memory size. a 16 or a 32gb. im not sure ill need all 32gb, but its kinda of a reassurance thing you kno like theres extra memory for you to play with if you use up all 16gb, but im not sure. any suggestions?

If you can afford the 32GB, go for it. You can never have too much memory.

Depends on what you do, I am rocking the 32 I think. If you are going to put apps, and MUSIC. For sure at least 16. 32, is like 10,000 songs. 16 is like 5,000. Keep in mind apps take up way more space too.

yea, true, but its kinda of waste of money if your not using all of it. its like buying a ferrari and not driving it ya kno?

That's true but you might be in a situation like me where you regret not getting the bigger model. With my memory card for my BB, I thought it would be enough for all my music, but I was like half a gig short lol. It's better to have it so you can use it in case you need to.

also another quick question guys. should i wait till att solves this mms issue? or is the 3gs good as it is so far and its worth it to buy it now? how would they fix this mms issue? do they need a software update or a hardware?

You're safe to buy a 3G S even if it doesn't have MMS at the time of purchase. It comes with the 3.0 OS which does have MMS already built-in. AT&T just needs to "activate it on their end." Once they do, it won't even require a software update to work.

Hmmm, I wonder if the 32 GB will have a slightly lower battery life.

Only get the 32 if you really need the extra 16 GB. Yeah, it's true you can't have too much memory, but 16 GB is still a TON of memory. I have thousands of MP3's, full season's worth of Family Guy and The Wire, lots of photos and family videos, and I still have over 5 GB left on my 16 GB Storm. And it's very easy to delete the huge video files, etc., that take up the most space.

Resale wise, you'll never recoup that $100... but you will get some of it back.

More memory = better resale value. The used iPhone 3G 16GB's sell much better than used 8GB's and sell for much more money

True, but the gap between 16-8 is a LOT larger than 32-16. Much more than the extra 8 GB. For many, 16 is a bit more than they need, but 8 is not nearly enough.

I suspect, sales wise, the 16 GB 3G did a lot better than the 8 GB version. I'll bet the 16 GB 3GS outsells the 32 GB version.

You very well could be correct. I had a 16GB iPod Touch and could have easily filled it with all my digital copy movies and music. If I would have bought 32 GB, I would not have stressed about all what I loaded on it. But I think your right on the average user wont need 32GB

so a 16 would be enough for someone like me right? i usually put only like 100 songs on my storm right now and usually switch it out when new albums come out and keep the old songs on my itunes or my ipod. im just being cautious cuz i dont want that hassle of waiting for an upgrade bcuz i ran out of space.

Like people have said if you have he money get the 32gb. Me personally if i can ill get the 32gb once my contract expires next year with verizon. But then ill wait to see if they release a new iphone next years WWCC. The new updates are good since they catch up to every other feature that other phones already did. 32gb would let me upload all my songs i have about 5gb of music, and movies. I love the video editing software that comes built into it, and the voice recognition for music and voice dialing.

I say go for 32 GB by far. I don't use too much media and I only have 6.60 GB left of my 16 GB (mine is actually only 14.64 GB, but you get the point)
