    1) Okay, how do I get MMS working? Do I have to jailbreak? If so, what program?

    2) How does one tether?

I think that's all for now! Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to add...I would search this myself but all I've been able to find is how to get MMS/tether on iPhone 3Gs...and I have a 2G.

I am also curious...if I were to use IM apps on the iPhone, would they count as data or text messages?

Download SwirlyMMS (you must jailbreak and use cydia to get it) and then call T-mobile for the mms settings. They have no problems giving that up.

    Oh cool sounds good! Thanks!

Just to clarify, with SwirlyMMS I can both send and receive MMS?

Correct. There is a trial, then you have to pay $7 or $8 dollars for it.

FYI: xsellize has Swirly for free. Just register on their site, the repo source must include your login credentials to access their stuff. Let me know if you get MMS working on standard messaging. I'm breaking my head trying to get the settings right. Nothing works.

Update: This is assuming you've jailbroken your iphone.
