You need to add into R+D into the cost. That's only materials. Production costs are higher than that. You need to pay people for time, reserch ect... I wonder how much it really costs with all those added in.
That doesn't surpise you does it (that they make a big profit)? I remember when MP3 players were new back in 2003-04. They estimated that a 20gb player cost about $120 to make, and they sold for about $300. Now advertising and phone/online support add up to a bunch more, don't forget that.
Yes i do know that, but remember its an iphone with a larger screen. so they save on the R+D j/k LOL.
lol touch
thank you thank you. lol
You need to take a business class if this is your way of thinking. "An apple tree costs $30 to plant yet they sell the apples for $1.29/lb they're screwing us Babalababalaba..."
iPhone cost roughly the same to make but you also have to factor in time, labor, shipping, more labor, research and development, 24/7 customer service support, returns, fixes, etc.
I highly doubt a Blackberry costs more to make yet it's selling for higher than an iPad.. hmmmmm
An iPad is even less expensive than an iPhone and it's much bigger and more useful (other than the phone part but that was never intended).
This thing is CHEAP. CHEAP. CHEAP. Ask anyone that knows anything about "costs" and they'll tell you that it's CHEAP. They make their money off of the ATT Revenue sharing agreement, accessories, istore, etc.
Look at consoles for example, they're not made for profit, the profit comes from games, accessories, and what not.
