Another nice feature when you double tap your home button to go into multitasking mode swiping right all the way brings you to your volume settings a and right before that pane you get media controls and a button that says portrait orientation locked ( which locks your screen orientation)
Still having issues not being able to connect to the app store on certain apps and my fb app won't upload pics. Just did a reboot. Still not working. Is there a way to revert back to iOS4?

As you may probably know Beta releases are very buggy and many apps are not OS 5.0 tested yet. I reverting back on my ipad because the WSJ does not work properly. Anyways, since apple still signs the official iOS 4 releases, i am told you can just install the official version of itunes and restore to the official iOS 4 release. I know that you got the message that you can't revert back when installing the beta release but it seems that's not true.
This has been the best iOS beta ever... the previous ones all had bugs. From beta 1 of iOS 5, it was like using a final version. This latest version of the beta seems to have released more bugs/issues though.
Duvi what have you been seeing? I haven't found a whole lot....at times my SMS screen loads slow but I am assuming code cleanup should take care of that.
Apple said in its keynote iOS 5 will be released in the fall. Given the fact most rumors point the new iphone being released in september, i am guessing sept, 22ish. A new version of iOS and a new iphone model have gone hand in hand in the past.
Updating and using the iOS 5 beta will be done at your own risk. Please be wary of the consequences and risks of using a beta firmware.
Today, Apple has released beta updates for all their enterprise products: iOS 5, iTunes 10.5, Xcode 4.2, and AppleTV. With the exception of iOS 5 beta 4 and AppleTV, all the other applications were updated to support the newly released iOS 5 beta. According to the release notes, this update should bring some much-needed improvements and bug fixes.
Just like iOS 5 beta 4, you can download it over-the-air. However, to do OTA, you must do this first on your device:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents And Settings
This will erase all the data on your device - make sure to backup first before doing this (if applicable). From here, you can use the OTA feature on iOS 5 beta 3+ firmwares.
You can also go the "original" route and just install iOS 5 beta 5 with the IPSW file. Make sure to do it in this order:
Backup/sync your device on iTunes 10.5 beta 4
Restore your device to iOS 5 beta 5
Update iTunes 10.5 to beta 5 and sync your backup with iTunes, or even iCloud
All supported devices for iOS 5 beta 5 are listed in the picture below:

Remember, as discovered on iOS 5 beta 4, the OTA update detects components on your device if jailbroken and will refuse to update. In order for you to upgrade from a jailbroken device, you must restore to your current stock iOS 5 firmware, and upgrade via the IPSW or OTA.
