Pretty much everywhere I'm not getting the full five bars that I normally do. But the phone is working the same as before for phone calls and data. Hasn't skipped a beat.

Why bother? All it does is change how the bars appear. It doesn't actually change the signal strength.

Hm, the radio didn't change. Lol. It will change in 4.1, but not 4.0.1. In 4.0.1 it will display the correct signal bars. Its NOT accurate in 4.0. So, your reception didn't change in 4.0.1, it only displayed the correct service you were getting. That was the whole purpose of 4.0.1. The modem is the same in 4.0 and 4.0.1. Just thought I should let you know. At least on 4.0.1, you'll know your correct and accurate signal strength.

Here's something I just noticed. When the alarm goes off now while the phone is locked, the only option you get is "snooze." Which is much better. That way you can't accidentally hit "ok"

This has happened no matter what phone I had. I will have 4 or five bars and I can watch it go down to all the way to 1 or no bars then watch it go all the way back up to 5 bars. It always fluctuates. I have used basic messaging phones to Blackberrys and now iPhones. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me. Called AT&T and they said all towers in my area are up and running. Just wondering what would cause this. If tour in the same spot wouldn't it stay solid?

If a nearby tower gets congested due to other traffic, the phone may switch to a not-as-nearby tower that is less congested but still has a good enough signal. Due to the time lag built into the signal bar display, you'd see the bards drop down over time (specifics depending on phone manufacturer design choices).

When the congestion on the nearby tower alleviates, the phone may switch back to it and thus the bars go back up.
