I'm sure I am not the only one to wonder this, or maybe I am. But does anyone have the know how or experience with computers and what not to have a clue of Skype could find a way to use FaceTime with their app so videocalls can be made with people using webcams?

You would have to use whatever APIs Apple has for the cameras. Technically yes you should be able to use Skype for phone to pc calling, but only once skype updates it (Fring blows, lags and now blocking Skype connections)

Yes.. that is exactly what Steve stated at
the keynote... FaceTime would be an open
standard for 3rd party apps to use it. This
    means Skype can incorporate FaceTime
within the app vs. just using the cameras
    to make Skype calls.

Just in case... this is different from Skype
updating their app just to be able to use
the cameras for their app. It's almost
    like Fring incorporating Skype, Instant
Messengers and Facebook. This way it
    can be an all-in-one app.
