- I keep finding new things.
I had opened App Store and at the same time was running my fingertip around the rim of the case where the display protector meets it, just pressing down the edge of the protector. Out of nowhere appears a handy snapshot screen. Weather bar at the top, below that a reminder I had set, then stock ticker, and at the bottom a quick preview of my email Inbox. Had no idea how I landed there...figured out I had accidentally swiped the screen from the top down. Nice surprise
Keeping it real; sadly Siri is in a coma & won't respond at all. I'll have to go back to VZW if she doesn't snap out of it. That's one of the highlight features of this phone, imho. I travel often and would much prefer Siri over my GPS or google maps, especially for locating stops from Starbucks to gas stations, etc. Wonder if she'll relay traffic, construction, etc.? Also she talks back so would be some company, heh. Much as I adore my dog who rides shotgun, he doesn't have much to say on road trips.auntrosie likes this.10-16-11 05:31 AMLike 1 -
- While we're all happy that you have entered the magical land of Apple, you really need to remember this is a Blackberry forum. While your transformation into an Applehead is fascinating to watch and your description of the fairy-like siri is certainly compelling, you might want to move to TiPb.
There you will find a magical fairyland awaits you with unicorns, happy clowns, balloons.....and those nasty old angry birds.
Peace and tranquility to all and happy rainbows for us all.......10-16-11 07:55 AMLike 2 - I was just going to start a new Siri thread. I got her working again, it's been since late Friday night that she stopped. I found the fix here: Fix: Siri Cant Connect to the Network
I don't know how long it will hold, but she's up and running again. A lot of people commenting seem to feel it's an apple server issue. Someone further down in the blog's comments said they placed a call, let it ring once, hang up, and Siri worked. But that fix didn't work for me. Only the initial instructions in the blog did.
I'll do *228 -1 also, thanks! Can't hurt
Just a side note, CB has been a site I've heavily frequented for so long, it wouldn't feel very good to be made to feel unwelcome anymore just because I wasn't using a Berry. Have to hand it to Kevin. He's a big enough person not to close off any discussions about any devices that aren't RIM's. Mods too. Admirable, too bad some members can't follow suit. If one bases their own sense of self (and categorizes others) on the type of smartphone they carry, time to put the phone down, get out in the big wide world and get some perspective.ThePinkChameleon likes this.10-16-11 11:08 AMLike 1 - OK, I did *228, 1 and then called back and updated roaming (2), just because I like to do that on a new phone and then once per month. Lost Siri altogether. The microsphone didn't even show on the screen. So went back and repeated steps in blog I linked to above, and she's back working again.

I'm on a bb right now, and have been thinking about switching to the iP4/4s for a couple of mths. I've been reading your thread and so far you seem happy about the switch
i'm honestly getting tired of the memory leaks and battery pulls every 2 or 3 days because by then i've lost 40-50mbs !! My hubby & daughter have the iP4(got'em in July) and i've used them on occassion-i also have an iPad. i find the iOS very easy to use its the whole touch screen thing that i'm worried about BUT i think at some point i'm just gonna bite the bullet and go for it when i have an upgrade avail on our family acct BTW, Siri is something that i will DEFF utilize on a daily basis multiple times indeed !!
anyway, sorry to veer off your thread.....carry on with your new found liking of the iP4S10-16-11 05:08 PMLike 2 - ChrisySeeker of the Wayi've been using a bb for 4yrs now, on cb for a yr(?) and i honestly never ever could understand the hatred/hostility that some users have for others that dont use a bb, or were previous bb users and have gone to android or iOS. I ignore them I've ALWAYS been a 'neutral' user and believe the motto "use what works for you"

hey, sometimes we all have to try something different, and if it doesnt work out, or its not as 'great' as we expected--then you can always return back to what you were previously using that worked well for you....and in this case, for you--a bb possibly againLast edited by P1nkD1am0nds; 10-16-11 at 05:17 PM.

- I am in the same situation here. Been with BB for awhile now. For the most part, I was trouble free. For some reason the Iphone 4S called to me. I did buy it and so far I am happy with my decision. I am not saying I won't go back to BB.. And if I do, I can respond to peoples post now because I have had both.
Besides, aren't we all just waiting for the BBX to come out? Until then, I want to try a little strange, sow my wild oats, IF you know what I mean......ThePinkChameleon and Chrisy like this.10-16-11 05:53 PMLike 2 - I asked Siri what does she look like and she responded with "Does my looks really matter?"
I asked Siri where is she from and she responded with "It says on my box made in California."
This is so cool.ThePinkChameleon and Chrisy like this.10-16-11 05:56 PMLike 2 -
