I am looking forward to Apple's new release - unless RIM actually does what they should and fix their damn OS, it will be my next phone. I am sick of waiting for RIM to realize they aren't the only game in town.
Kid phone. God...stupid stupid stupid. It's the same lame, stand by response whenever someone points out Apple's strengths. If the iPhone is a toy then it's the PS3 to RIM's Super Nintendo.03-21-10 12:43 AMLike 0 -
oh and as for the iphone being a kid phone comment and reeneebob shooting back about it......
yea every blackberry professional is missing out on this...
Beer Drinking Simulator For The iPhone (video) | GadgetReview
it just gets real old. everyone asking which phone they should get, all the comparisons. i mean, who cares. if the iphone works for you, get it. if the blackberry works for you and you dont need an app to scratch your **** every three minutes, then get the blackberry.03-21-10 12:52 AMLike 0 - And what part of the consumer market are you missing?
I am not someone who has a BB because I am a professional and have it for work - I got it for texting and to not have to carry around an agenda book in my purse. The OS is outdated and needs a revamp - and RIM needs to learn that the phone needs more than 128 or 256 mb of flash for applications on it. The memory leaks are atrocious. I like the simplicity but its the REST of it that blows goats.
While RIM likes it's professional stand by user base, they are actively courting the teens and consumers - and they are sorely lacking in that department. There is only so much the professional base can carry. And also, this elitist attitude that anything not BB is a 'kid phone' needs to stop because it's pathetic.
EDIT
Incidentally - look at all the people wanting to watch porn on their BB. There's a ton of posts about it. I suppose that is a class above beer though, right?03-21-10 01:13 AMLike 0 - Now dont get it twisted im a blackberry till i die, but do you rememeber that Ford and GM use to be the #1 car companys in the US and thought Toyota couldnt catch them. They try to sell us the same old boring cars, with new light every couple of years. Now look at toyota and Hyundai there making moves and makeing Ford and GM look like there old and out of touch. Remember consumer buy with there eyes first, then whats in the product.03-21-10 01:41 AMLike 0

- The iPhone is a great device, but I never thought that it was in direct competition with BlackBerry. It almost seems like two different markets to me. That may sound crazy, but if I am in the market for a rich multimedia experience, I look at the iPhone, Android, and maybe WebOS. If I want a business device, I would look toward BlackBerry or WM.

Give me Flash, increased memory, and the new webkit. Widgets are coming, so that's a good thing. I can get used to the OS 6 experience as depicted in those leaked pictures. But I don't want my phone to be my iPod or my gaming platform.
There are a lot of people who don't like to have as many lines as BBerry is coming up with, but I embrace that. Give me my business oriented device but give those folks who want that kind of an experience their own options as well.
My frustration comes when I'm on the train or at the airport and I'm self medicating by just doing some mindless surfing and theres' site content I can't access because of Flash. Or my email is truncated and I have to switch to my notebook. I would really love it if both extremes (business centric/entertainment) could meet somewhere in the middle.Last edited by Qbnkelt; 03-21-10 at 04:46 AM.

Android seems to be in the middle.

I do have a bold and I do love it..but I will be switching to the iphone or WM when my contract expires..short reason why, I am a small business owner with a server and exchange and i would love to have emails, calendar and contacts sync over the air as soon as one arrives..and I don't really feel like paying thousands of dollars for BES just to keep my BB. I don't even think the hassle of setting up the free bes express is worth it. I mean, why would I put myself through all the mucking around when I can get it done with a device straight out of the box.
Just my honest opinion. Please no flaming.

Ford keeps on selling plenty of vehicles and was one of the companies that excelled when other companies were asking for bailouts and what not.
Just sayin'.
As the phone thing, who cares IMO, you get the phone that best suites you, plain and simple. **** some people will get their phone and defend it to their death, lol! People it is a dam phone for crike sakes! I will never understand these debates or whatever they are. People are going to get what they want, period!
