Just wondering as anyone gone back to an iPhone 3Gs after having an iPhone 4 because i have, and i was just curious. The retina screen and facetime wasn't enough for me.

I actually sold a 3GS before i got the Ip4. I don't really care about facetime ether but that display is amazing. Sorta make every other screen look blah lol. Also a big reason for me keeping the Ip4 is the battery life...it's fantastic considering it's a touch. To be honest the 3GS was not even an option for me.... I was going to continue with the 9700 if the Ip4 didn't workout.
If you don't mind what went wrong and you went back to the 3gs?
Yea your right about the screen. An the battery life was GREAT compared to the competition (capacitive touch screens). But the simple annoyance for me was I'm left handed and I don't like cases. Now I may get some backlash for that but it's the honest truth. I dropped a few more calls then I would like to.
I could totally understand that. Most important thing on a phone is to make calls IMO. if dropping calls was something that was happening to me i would go back to my berry. I need a phone to be a phone fist and then everything else.
I don't know if i been lucky or it's just the service thats good where i am (Canada) but i think in 2 weeks I had about 1 dropped call.... not even sure it was my phone that dropped it. just like you i don't like cases...Naked is the way to go :)... I tried the bumper but can't get used to it..... I'll give it another day or so then it's coming off.
after having the 4, using my moms 3gs is horrible. The death grib doesnt really effect me because im in a strong coverage area. I thought DC had a strong coverage area also?
im located in Rockville MD and my bars rarely go down. but im also right handed so who knows? (my phone is running caseless, no bumper, etc).
have yet to drop a call too! :D
I'm waiting for the white iPhone 4 to come out-
With that said, I prefer the 3G/3Gs body because its more curvy and feels more ergonomic.
My friend has an iPhone 4 and after a while those straight lines irritate my hands.
When I get my iPhone 3Gs in my grubby hands its like I was out in the sun on a hot day, and took refuge in the shade.
I love its screen, and battery improvement, but I just love the way the 3Gs feels in my hand.
Besides, I don't know enough people to use FaceTime with.
I'm sure eventually FaceTime will be much much more widespread but at the moment it's useless for me.
After 1 more product cycle I'm certain FaceTime will be much more widespread.
(I'm choking on irony and laughter). :)
I'd choke on iron too!
I'm in Germantown. :D
DC does have a strong coverage area but I still hold my phone over the sweet spot when doing anything. I was actually trying to hold it right handed, but would always forget. But yea I still loved the phone. I figured the 3Gs was a great phone for me as well and I like that phone just as much. So...... I have given up the added perks and went back to the 32 gig 3Gs.
I'd never got back to a 3GS after using the iPhone 4. You
must have the strongest grip in the world, because even
those that get 3-4 bars constantly aren't effected by the
grip where they drop more calls than the 3GS.
Nah I don't Duvi. Believe me check my post at first it wasn't a problem but after a while it caught up to me, and I was effected but the Antenna problem. I hold my phone like everyone else. I just happen to be left handed. And after about 2 minutes of a call, I would drop them. Because my bars would gradually drop and my service would go completely dead. No super strong death grip nothing special. Relax I'm not bashing just saying it was a problem which prompted me to go back to what WAS working just fine.
