Errors 3000-3999 (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. a buddy just called me he was getting the same error. i dont know whats causing it but i had him download the .IPSW directly to his desktop then open itunes and press and hold shift while he clicked on restore. This will bring up a box to locate the update file he downloaded and it did the restore with no errors.
