When I use Yahoo Messenger there is a place on the left side that said IM SMS, is that for text on the ipod touch or for the iphone? I have a itouch 3 gen. or is there another way to send an SMS on the itouch?

There are a bunch of apps in the store for free SMS. Just do a search for SMS and check out the user reviews to give a try.
