Well, I for one dont buy all the hype about a stolen prototype phone, whos right or wrong, etc. Personally, I believe it was an extremely well planned and orchestrated media hype event to promote the new iPhone. Of that I am convinced. How better for Apple to get such massive, cheap publicity just prior to the introduction of their latest phone. Its a win-win situation for both Apple and Gizmodo. Say what you will, but I say whoever came up with the plan is an advertising and marketing genius.

I believe it happened like this.

Apple sent Gizmodo the phone with the story line and paid them 5000 to stay silent. lol

What makes them Log On to his Facebook and notice his last status was: I love German beer.

I bet it happened in purpose.
And if it was then it is a SMART idea

Apple is genius at creating buzz for an upcoming release. This latest is the biggest buzz creation ever. I agree it was calculated.

When I left my phone in a bathroom while out drinking a couple years ago, someone turned it in to the bartender right away. My LG flip phone did not make it onto Gizmodo's site.
That is strange! I would have thought they would have went right after that one!!!! LOL
