    31.2 million iPhones.
Wasn't everyone saying the smartphone market was over saturated?

How many of those were new smartphone users and how many were iPhone upgrades or users switching from another smartphone - BlackBerry, Android or WP8? Two of my friends are about to upgrade their iPhone 4, just waiting on the new one (5S). The market isn't oversaturated, but it certainly seems to be getting saturated in 'the first world'. How many friends / colleagues / family under 50 do you know that doesn't have a smartphone?

No doubt, impressive numbers for Apple, though good for them. BlackBerry would love to have sales like that.

Apple can produce garbage products and people will still buy them because it's an Apple.
This argument becomes sillier by the day.

That's just silly talk. :-) Even the US is still growing ... over 30 million new smartphone owners in the last year. Just not 'hyper-growth'

Without new products & innovation, Apple is going to have a tough go of it. It's volumes are down sequentially from Q2/13:
Apple's products are generally pretty seasonal. This isn't really new. Year over year, iPhone sales are up ... which is good for them. iPod sales are quite down, but have been for a while as the iPhone eats into that business. Macs are down a little.

The big surprise for me is the iPad drop. I would have expected a revenue decline by virtue of the mini eating into the full iPad sales, but not a unit drop like that. Guess competition is finally heating up a bit in the tablet space.

Have you seen what has happened to Microsoft, blackberry, htc, Dell, well the industry.

$6.9 BILLION in PROFIT, that's more than DOUBLE TRIPLE what blackberry has in the bank!!!!

There is no way you can spin that as negative.

You can spin anything into a negative. Like this:

"Well, they ONLY made $6.9 billion. Clearly Apple is broken as a company."

Sure, this really doesn't make any sense, but being non-sensical hasn't been a barrier before, so. . .

3 times since Blackberry has 1.9B in cash the 3.1B figure does not account for 1.2B account payable delayed by Blackberry to look better than it is

Yep - India up 400%, Philippines up 140%, US up over 50% - the only 'up' we aren't see is for BBRY - in the US in particular, they are looking at complete lock-out.

Sold at a fraction of Apple? What are you talking about? The Z10 retails in the same range as a 4S ($600).

Yes let's go back to 2007 and do the same thing Research in Motion did...completely ignore Apple and/or not take them seriously.
