So I have done some searching here on CB aswell as Google and couldn't find anything worthwhile? Is there a way, whether it be through ATT or another provider, that I can buy an iphone and get data only on it?

iPhone = automatically voice and data. If you can attach yourself onto a family plan, it would just be $10 rather than $40 for voice.
