I thought i had read on engadget that they already had jailbroken the 3.0 software.
This may be a stupid question, but im only 3 weeks into the iPhone world. But what would be the reason for jailbreaking, now that we have 3.0? It seemed like jailbreaking before 3.0 was a great idea, seeing that you would have most of the features that 3.0 was going to offer. So now that we do have it, is there a HUGE reason to do it? If so, please explain and maybe ill grow a sack, and try it! Thanks guys!
Well jailbreaking gives you the chance to change any appearance on the phone... I also have this program called mobile theatre that I can watch any movie in the theatre or tv show. If I had an iPhone with ATT I would jailbreak it. It has an app store but if different useful apps

That last sentence was wrtten wrong my bad lol. But yeah I say you grow a sac and do it. Only thing is if you need to return the phone for any reason you need to restore it before you send it back

please some one find a crack or code break for the new iphone
The number one reason to jailbreak for me would be multitasking. Backgrounder allows you to run multiple apps at once. I still don't understand this one, the iPhone OS is UNIX-based, UNIX was one of the original multi-tasking Operating Systems.
I'm missing my jailbreak as well......wish I had a mac jailbreak has been released.
Well I only want jailbreak for 2 apps. Backgrounder and Blacklist. Backgrounder allows you to run 3rd party apps in the background. Currently on iPhone's natives apps run simultaneously. And blacklists so I can block calls and SMS from certain people. But also to those not on AT&T. They need to jailbreak it in order to unlock it to use on TMO or other GSM carriers.
I did a little bit of reading, and from what I saw, you are able to use everything that came on the phone, the exact same way as you could before you jailbroke it, even after jailbreaking it. Is that correct? Hope I worded that right. I LOVE the way the phone operates from the factory, but I think the biggest thing I would like is the personal customization, like themes and such. Im sure I would find more things that I would like after doing it, but that would be the biggest right now.
And I think I saw that quickpwn was the best place to go for jailbreaking? Any and all help you guys give me is highly appreciated. Thank you all very much!
And how cool is that 123spoof! App... I love it! LOL

Go to theiphoneblog.com. Or iclarified.com they show you step by step on how to do it

Yup. With jailbreaking you can to everything it could do before + more. I like it for the customization of the themes and icons.
Awesome, thank you guys very much. I guess the only thing left to ask is, how often to people run into "big problems" when jailbreaking? And what is the cause of them running in to those problems. It seems to me, that if you follow the directions exactly how your supposed to, you cant screw it up. Is there anything I am missing? Thanks again!
*EDIT* Which is better to use, quickpwn or pwnage?
I used the windows version forgot which one it is. And I've heard that it slows down a little bit compared to when the iPhone isn't jailbroken. I've never had any major problems whatsoever

I have a Mac, does it matter which version I use then?
