He doesn't mention "smaller tablets" generally, but specifically describes 7-inch tablets and presumably anything smaller. And, based on sales results of both, you could argue he was right. Amazon came along and did something meaningful a year later, but they don't release sales figures, and there were more iPads sold last quarter than in all of 2010.
