Please remember that just like on any platform if you use a 3rd party keyboard that they do have keylogging abilities if you give them full access and can record every keystroke. Luckily Apple do give you the option to turn off "full access" and I would recommend doing so if you are concerned about security.

Yet another attack vector on a attack-prone OS.

    Good advice.

It goes for all OS's to be fair and Apple give the option of disabling full access unlike some other companies.

Like? I didn't know BB10 and WP could have custom keyboards...

Os's that support them. Use a little common sense.

except none of the major 3rd party keyboards offer their worthwhile featuresets unless it's enabled. like limited ad-tracking, apple's implemented a half-solution here
If you ask me none of them offer a worthwhile feature set anyway so the security risk doesn't affect me personally.

How is it a "half-solution?" You either let 3rd party keyboards have network access or you don't? Their feature sets depend on it. Apple is giving people the solution they wanted, while simultaneously warning them that keyloggers are a real thing.

Hard to see how they could do it any differently.
