    Description:

Ever wanted to know exactly where the photo was taken? With the Taken application it will show you exactly the location on the map.

Supports BlackBerry Maps and Google Maps.

You can use Taken application to create Albums to organize all your photos. Your photos are never modified or deleted. Taken application only reads the photo information.

You can select a single photo, multiple photos or all the photos from the Album to display on the map. You can then interactively zoom in and out of the map, move from one photo to another or touch the photo on the map to get detail info such as GPS location, share photo, view the original photo or get driving instructions.

Taken is also integrated with the OS. You can select Share or Open In from any 3rd party application such as Pictures, File Manager, Camera etc.. When you Share you can select Show on Map and the photo will be displayed at the exact location.

Note: Your photos must have Geotag enabled in the Camera Settings application. When add photos to the Album if nothing is found then the photos does not have Geotag information.

Good luck with the app. That is a nice addition to having the geo-info inside the picture but generally requiring a bit of external work to find the location.

Thanks. The new version will have more detail info about the taken photo like camera make, model, software, f-stop, exposure time, flash mode etc...

Thinking of integrating Google map satellite map so you can see in detail version just a road map on BlackBerry map.

Name of the picture file? When you touch the Pin it shows you the picture name and other file.
If you have all the names on the map it would make it very hard to read.

If I recall, the older bbos actually named the picture with the gps map name as part of the name. But I tend to agree that it could get cluttered.

No I actually meant "city, town or village name"

By the way, when I was playing with 10.3.0.1052 I found that from Pictures app if you choose to view properties of picture file, you get option to View in Maps and it will automatically show the name of the place

Interesting find. Although my "backcountry" (not near civilization) photos show a blank map

Taken has an option to view on map too if you Share or Open In a JPG. It will only display the picture on the map if the pic has geotag info.
