I'm still working on upgrading my excellent Torch 9810 to an Android.

I look forward to staying with BB, but if I have to lose the trackpad and keyboard anyway (priv and keyone aside), the other feature I want to keep most is a mappable convenience key. Besides BB, what other phones out there have such a feature? I know many of you are knowledgeable about non-BB's... (Perhaps there aren't any non-BB phones that do this!) The goal is to be able to play/pause the music without pulling the phone out of my pocket and unlocking it. Thanks

Hmm... I see volume up/down, power, and home button. I suppose all of those are remappable. I'm inquiring about any non-BB phones with an _additional_ physical button. ...make sense yet?
Thankfully, your quick reply told me instantly that my question was misunderstood.

Okay, title changed and thread moved. Since you're asking about anything but BlackBerry phones, I think your question would be better asked on our sister site, Android Central.

If you want to downgrade, win6 mobile phones had remappable buttons, but that is a pretty severe downgrade.

Ahh. Maybe you're right about moving the thread. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. But I'm not in a hurry to downgrade (:

Do you use wired earphones to listen to your music? You can get a set with a pause button built into the wire, bypassing the need to even remap or touch your phone if you want to pause/restart music.

Sometimes I use earphones, but mostly I'm just using the device speaker.
