The biggest thing I miss from my blackberry is the d-pad. It made selecting text and moving back and forth in text very easy. I'm finding it much harder to be so exact on my smartphone. Is there any way to achieve the precision of a d-pad in selecting text and jumping from spot to spot when texting if you have a touch screen phone?

Im not sure of this is on stock ICS, but you can use the volume keys to move the cursor.

That is a great idea. Does anyone know if there is an android app that will do this? Definitly not stock on my Motorola.

Yep. I used to use this on smaller screened phones. I've found that the larger the screen, the more accurate I am in cursor placing, text selecting, etc with just my finger.
