In theory, I would love to make it my next daily driver! The only drawback is I don't know if I can limp my current s7 until December. I've had a standing order at Verizon for a KEY2 LE for the past month but I am starting to think they will never get stock again. I also ordered the phone the second day after they officially carried it on the enterprise side! Regardless, I am going to buy the Titan to support the project because I support anyone making a PKB phone in 2019.

As of 8:24 AM they are at $92,446 of the 100k Goal. Looks like they will have raised 100k in under 30 minutes!

Someone in another tread said they just ordered a KEY2 LE via Verizon enterprise sales and got it right away. You might want to call Verizon and see if there is an issue....

The weight of this thing is really the only thing that kind of puts me off from seeing myself using it as a daily.

That thing is weighs almost as much as two LE's stacked on top of one another

Doing some math indicates they need just less then 206 euro per phone. I paid 214 euro for the phone plus 10 euro for shipping.

So profit per phone minimally 8 euro. That is very little profit?!?

This is what I don't understand.

The pkb is about outputting reams and reams of text per day. How does that reconcile with something that you can barely hold without getting injured?

Who can judge this without having had it in hand?

I prefer devices that are robust and have a long batterylife.

Why not give this idea a chance?

It's exactly what I always wanted. Even if it will not the be the fastest smartphone, - for me - they deserve the money just for the concept!

How is it that this remake of the Passport can be sold with out royalties paid to one both of BlackBerry and TCL ?

This company ought to consider a Q10 remake.

I had a love Mei case on my P20 pro for a while and got used to it. Pushed its weight to about the same or higher. No issues here. I already work with my hands all day. And i weigh over 230 pounds. Anything under a pound basically feels like nothing. Hahaha. It would feel substantial enough not to fear crushing it if I sat on it.

I got in at 219! I was logged into KS at 8:00am sharp to get in at 199 but by the time I hit submit, that price tier had all sold out! By the time I confirmed my backing, the 219 tier had sold out! Crazy!

The way you keep going on about the weight.... What did a Passport weigh once you put a good HD case on it? Most Otterboxes are an easy 100 Grams... this phone won't require one.

If there is any reason to doubt this as a daily driver, it's the software.

    1) Who is making the software and can they be trusted?
    2) Can the hardware components be trusted not to have firmware that calls home?
    3) Will there be any Android updates?

But I still think it's something to support and see where it goes. At one time we had a number of "developer" types. Something like this without a locked Boot Rom... who know what they could have done.... Could have our own XDA Titan site.

The marketing speaks very little about the software, just that it's running Android 9 and comes with features on pretty much any other Android phone. As for Unihertz's software pedigree, don't expect miracles.

Just because it has a huge heavy battery, it won't be any less susceptible to dings and scratches than a passport would. I don't see any reason why it would need a case any more or less.
