The pics of the Droid screen the home screens look so bland.
I am wondering if u can change the colors; the icons etc.
I have been leaning toward the Omnia 2 but this phone
    definitely has my interest.

That made me do this; and wonder about this.

"If you hesitate....Does that mean your lost?"
I am hoping it is just a rough before the final comes
out. From what I gather it is customizeable. I was hoping
some droind pros would chime in.

On some of the icons the colors look very crisp. I guess my concern or question are the background colors customizeable. Can I change the icons etc. From what I have seen from other android it looks crisp. The touch wiz/touch flo has that flash that crispness of color.
Maybe it will have to be a try it and see kinda thing.

I'm going to be a noob with Android as well, but from what I hear, the Android GUI is very customizable.

Thats what I am hearing too; if that be the case then the possibilities are endless.

You can change the background. That's not an issue. And if you're talking about bland icons that's the way android looks stock. When htc puts something like "sense" on top of android that's what makes it "pretty" android is meant to be fast and efficient. Not pretty.

    I'm really considering the Droid.

Do android phones do "themes" or something along that line? I've read of people putting SenseUI on other android phones. Is that major surgery?

To load Moto Blur or the Sense UI, the device needs to be rooted, whatever that means.

Android is the wave of the future IMO. It's taken a lot of reading and studying but I'm 100% getting an Android phone (or possibly the N900 with Maemo) next upgrade.

Exactly. If you look at something like the mytouch or g1 you'll see that they're relatively bland. Whereas with htc they incorporate sense and add a later of polish. The same thing with moto blur.
