The "Z1"..... I guess that comes before a Z3, Z10 or a Z30.

As the article said, they are going after 1st time smartphone buyers. And with a price tag of $92... at least they understand their market a little.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I remember when BB10 launched and Thor was stating to the world that BB was going to focus on top-tier and mid-tier customers only and leave the bottom of the market aside the message seemed off to me. It seemed off especially considering where BB was at the time. The deal with Qualcomm should have been contemplated much earlier. Samsung has apparently learned from BB's mistake of ignoring that growing sector of the market, and all of the ecosystem growth that comes with it. I'm not particularly confident that Tizen will succeed but Samsung may be able to leverage its range of products to give Tizen momentum.
