It reads 6 hours *ahead* of the real time zone I'm in, e.g. it's Friday March 18th at 7 pm, but it reads that it is Saturday March 19th at 1 am. When I shut it off and turn it back on, it fixes it for a little while, but then if I just leave it alone for a couple hours, I come back and it reads this advanced time again! All of the dates/times on my text messages adjust accordingly. I haven't been out of my time zone at all. My GPS is not on (nor is my 4G), and it has my location correct.

Any idea why it is doing this and how to stop it?

When you go into Settings > Date & Time Settings is it set for Automatic (Use network-provided values)?

If not..be sure to select this, if it is..i'd suggest de-selecting it, backing out of the settings, and then going back in and re-selecting it. After that either do a "soft reset" (hold down the power button til the Reboot option comes up) or just do a battery pull.
