...not working when I try to "install and download" apps.
Tried searching for this, can't find squat or I'm just slow
at searching.

I have unknown sources allowed, WiFi on, and I'm on
ATT. I can go through the Market no prob at all, but
when I hit install, the app just sits at the "starting download"
bar position. Can't figure it out, had Android phones so this isn't
a first for me, and help would be appreciated!!
If nothing, I'm going to just return it. Don't want to since
its a really sick phone...

Hmm I had this on the droid a long time ago. If you check your gmail should not be receiving emails either and not showing older ones when you scroll down, just shows loading.

What I did was a factory data reset, under privacy settings.

You will need to redo your settings and such but it's the only thing I found to fix it.

Whoa I was just saying to my gf "maybe I should do a
factory reset" lol weird!!

But thank you, I'm going to try it right now. But kinda
stupid considering its fresh off the FedEx truck grrrr...

you should have waited for the N1 on AT&T. yer not gonna get 3G service for data.

Same problem on Verizon with a new device, sounds like the Market is down for new activations.

Yeah I know about the whole 3G thing, but
what I didn't know that ATT getting their own?
When is this gonna happen?

That would be great if that could be confirmed
for us. I'm about to return it soon if its something

And its like I said, I just received it
off the truck earlier, so I don't get
why its not working unless the Market

Try to open google talk and tell me if it says unable to connect.

Google Talk opens right up, it has the status
bar and so on up top. Just describing it so you
know it opened fine...

Yea that is def an issue with the marketplace then. When this occurred with my phone, i would not be able to download from market, but I could also not connect to google talk and gmail would not receive emails. Data usage like internet worked fine though.

Maybe marketplace is experiencing downtime.

Yeah well hopefully it really is Market being down
for a bit, I got my 9700 for backup but I was really
looking forward to using Android again since its sick
with it. Love em both

actually my market just now was acting weird. went to look at an update for an app and it kept going back to the main start screen. it did it 3 times but now its working fine.

I would suggest going to the forums at xda-developers and searching for the problem.

They just released the MT Maps today, maybe everyone is downloading it and killing the market at the moment. It's close to a 4mb file.

I'm reading on the comments that some people are losing MT that already had it with a ported version of the app.

Weird though because my ported version is 3.4 which is the same thats on the market. But I'm not downloading it just in case. my ported version works flawless. ported from N1

instead of just opening up google talk, sign out then sign in. Thats what I read on alldroid in a few different threads to fix it. or turn your google sync off reboot and turn it back on.

I had my sync turned off from earlier,
just read your post, turned it off then
back on, now every download floating

np! glad to help. yeah i was trying to help search for the issue for you on other forums! people who aren't used to android forget about the sync. and syncing contacts... etc.

Last Android device I owned was a little unlocked
HTC Magic from France that was on Vodafone.
This one kinda different with the sync and stuff
but I'm not a full noob at it.

And I just turned off my WiFi to test speeds on
the Market, kinda slow compared to the 3G on my
BB, but the texts, calls, and apps move along pretty
damn fast. Just downloading stuff is kinda behind.
Nothing big for me though, still a sick phone IMHO!
