- I just got a Droid 3 days ago and frankly I am getting used to it and my battery life is not too bad. I can live with not quite making it the all day and having to plug it in when in the vehicle to boost the battery some.
I know that lots of people are complaining about the battery life and all I got to say is this: if you use a laptop or netbook would you expect it to last a whole day? I think users are forgetting what they have in their hands. It is not a phone but a mini pc! Why complain about the battery life on a Droid and not on a netbook or laptop? Until battery technology catches up with these smart phones either plug phone in or carry another battery. I rather do that than carry another Storm! - Add the power control widget (Preloaded) to your phones desktop, and actually use it. Make sure to turn the WiFi and GPS off when not using it, and if you're out snowboarding, or doing something you don't need to get emails or other sync notifications, use it to turn Auto-Sync off and dim your display.
I get 2 full days of use on my Droid with a full battery discharge.11-21-09 10:33 AMLike 0 - Reduce the brightness of the screen as well. I used to keep mine at 0, but I haven't noticed any real difference in battery drain between 0 and 20%, so I keep it at 20%. Also reduce the number of synced accounts/applications. The more your Droid is reaching out for new information, the more it's going to hurt your battery. Listening to music stored on your phone doesn't drain the battery much at all. If you're streaming from Slacker or Pandora though, that's a different story.
Me, I have only 1 Gmail account synced, and I turn off Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, run the screen at 20%, don't let any applications sync in the background. My phone is off the charger for 17 hours a day, and after heavy texting, some browsing, mp3s, couple calls, my battery is at around 50/60%.11-21-09 12:20 PMLike 0
