- I'm hearing the stock browser is a snail and music player doesn't recognize artists etc etc...
That being said, should I even bother with it? Phone runs awesome as is. Froyo sounds great but maybe it needs work for DInc. Anyone experiencing these issues??
Thanks in advance!09-02-10 02:18 AMLike 0 - There's always a segment of users / devices that don't work well with os updates. From reading the incredible forums it seems that the large majority of users have taken to the 2.2 update very well. There are a vocal few that did not take well to it though.
The main issue I have with 2.2 is the additional bloatware from Verizon, and the fact that they don't provide the user a way to completely remove it. This is the case with all Android phones on vzw though. Another reason why I think all Android users can benefit from a good rooting.
All in all 2.2 is a good update and worth it imo. It's definitely faster overall than 2.1 was and seems to settle in after a day or two. I also expect that some developers may update their apps if they can be optimized for the new os. There's also an updated flash apk that wasn't included in the official update that resolves any browser lag. You have to download that separately though.
As for comparing an incredible with 2.2 and x with 2.1...all in the eye (hands?) of the beholder... the incredible is still the most buttery smooth device in verizon line up when comparing my incredible on 2.2 to my colleagues x on 2.1. X has the better battery life though. It will be interesting to see how x users like the 2.2 update.Last edited by BzB; 09-06-10 at 09:31 AM.
