i bought a mytouch 3g however it did not come with the charger
is it possible to use my blackberry bold 9000 charger with my mytouch 3g without damaging the battery?

Yes you can use the charger from a bold as long as they both use the same type of plug ins. I have used my BB charger on my droid for awhile without any problems.
