- I'm thinking of leaving BB... The announcement of the 9900 is rather under-whelming so... What the best Droid for T-Mo? I keep hearing its best to "root" your Droid phone. What is this and is it difficult to do?
Any help is appreciated!

- I test drove quite a few T-mobile phones a couple weeks ago and ended up with the mytouch 4g, all touch one, still running 2.2. I just couldnt justify the price difference as I got this for a good deal due to the slider mytouch4g, which runs gingerbread 2.3, which was a beast of a phone. Even liked it over the Sensation. Just neither phone was in my budget.
So might be able to get a similar deal like I did. It really is an awesome phone.
Still miss my bb kb and battery life, lol!

I've owned every one of them that could have been considered high-end when they were released and the Sensation offers the fastest performance overall, better battery life by far, the nicest screen, the best camera, best email and other message handling, the best call log and call quality, and always stays locked onto the network.
The G2x would be a very close second but it has experienced well-known reliability problems and even the update meant to cure issues may not have been sufficient.08-27-11 01:41 AMLike 0 - I currerently own a sensation, and personally I dont really think it is any better than the mytouch 4G I had. The screen is a little larger which is nice, sense 3.0 doesnt really do anything for me over what ever the MT4G had. Battery life is hard to compare because I have only had thie sensation for a week and from my experience battery life on android phones doesn't really stabilize untill about a month in. I cant tell that the processor is any faster and I use the device pretty hard for alll kinds of crap that I do. Running multiple apps and things like that. The MT4G was a little thicker and heavier, personally I like the extra weight phone feels beefier and stronger, who knows. The sensation really doest take up any more space in my pocket considering the larger screen. The signal on the MT was better than the sensation. I could make calls in places with the MY that I cant with the sensation. Suppsidly there is and OTA (over the air) update that will fix some bugs and help out signal. I dont see how a software flash can help signal but we will see.
One thing I hate about Tmobile andriods is the fact that all of there OS updates are OTA's. BB were so much better you could download the update from crackberry, or TMO. But the android devices I have had you have to wait until they call your number in line basically. One day you will look at your phone and there is an OS update. But your are at their mercy they will get to your phone when they feel like it. Personally I wouldn't wait for the new samsung device, I hate samasung mobile devices. HTC makes very nice phones and other devices but I think it is mostly personal preference. I suggest wait until the MY4G is free or they have a .01 deal and buy one of those and save yourself $200 over the sensation. But apparently you can get a new sensation for new lines from walmart for $99. But upgrades are $200. Better yet go test them out in a store if you can.08-29-11 08:02 PMLike 0 - I currerently own a sensation, and personally I dont really think it is any better than the mytouch 4G I had. I love my Sensation, but I agree that it's not a HUGE upgrade over the MT4G. In fact there are things I miss, like the car dock mode and the genius button. But the Sensation is a rad phone, and it's even better after the update. It fixed most of the bugs I had been experiencing.09-03-11 11:49 AMLike 0 - avt123O.G.Really? When I use to install betas/other carrier release updates on my 9000 my device would gain or lose signal all the time. Some of the OS versions had better radio files than others. There was one version where in excellent cell coverage area my dBm was horrible. I installed a different leak with different radio files and magically my dBm was excellent again. Software can definitely fix the signal problems unless the hardware is just ****ty. I don't think HTC would do that on their premium device.
Although if I remember correctly, HTC devices use to have bad signal strength. I know there were many complaints about the Nexus One in regards to signal strength.09-03-11 12:18 PMLike 0 - Yep, or you could go to a T-Mo store and they can put the update on your phone.

- Do you have sideloading enabled? If so, just download this on your phone through the web browser. If that doesn't work, put the apk on your sd card and install it through Astro File Manager.09-03-11 10:59 PMLike 0

1. Go to settings, then applications, and tick the box next to unknown sources. This will let you install apps that aren't from the market.
2. Download Astro File Manager off the Android Market. Great app, btw.
3. For your convenience, I uploaded the Car Panel apk to megaupload. Download it here. Drag the file to your desktop for convenience, you can move it elsewhere later on or delete it if you don't want to keep it anymore.
4. Connect your phone to your computer. Put it in the disk drive mode. Drag the apk on your microSD card and put it somewhere where you'll be able to navigate to. Unplug your phone.
5. Open Astro File Manager. Navigate to where you put the apk. Click on it, and it will give you an option to browse the file or open app manager. Click open app manager. Press install. Everything should be straightforward from here.

- I checked for the OTA a couple of nights ago and it was available. So I installed it signal hasn't changed seems about the same as the MT4G the more I play with the it. It just seems the sensation takes longer to pick up signal than the MT. Battery life has improved as the days have went on, the OTA helped screen images and battery life. The sceen is much better on the sensation easier to read in sunlight and sharper images. It does seem a little smoother as well. So I think the sensation is a better device but only by a little bit. On a side note I really like the 4.3" compare to the 3.8 it makes a huge difference reading with kindle app. The larger screen doesn't add much at all to the size of the phone, but the added size is really nice.09-04-11 09:01 PMLike 0
- I've only had one phone on T-Mobile and that's the HTC Sensation and I love it. It's better than the iPhone 3GS I had. You should definitely get it.
