Noticed the pre-orders are now open with shipments starting this month. The keyboard shortcut thing is interesting since it's on par with BlackBerry keyboard shortcuts. Still not sure about the landscape keyboard and my short thumbs, that's a long stretch, but I'd try it. - https://www.fxtec.com/product/fxtec-pro%c2%b9/

Thanks for pointing this out to us. I'd like to see an actual video review. CAD drawings of phone don't instill a lot of confidence in me.

Ordered the Titan, so this one for me might be an option only when both the 2LE and that Titan fail.

Happy to see another pkb option though. Not an skb (vkb) fan.

Landscape keyboards are hard to type on, almost defeats the purpose of a pkb.

I'm intrigued. But like you, I'd want to see an actual hands on demo before throwing down some cash.

Hoping for some newer reviews on actual final devices and not pre-production ones. The hinge kind of had me wondering about the stability.

maybe if you split-screen alot and like pkb. Typing for long periods would seem to be tiring on this device.

I love the title -- if only it were for a new BlackBerry device.
I am not sure landscape mode would be comfortable to use. I remember a friend from Europe having a phone with a landscape keyboard. It would have been in 2006. That goes way back. Not sure what it was, especially because it was a European device.

Landscape keyboards were a thing a decade ago. The Moto Droid was landscape slider and one of the first and most famous early Android phones. https://www.engadget.com/2009/10/30/...-droid-review/

I remember having some horizontal slider running Windows something and it was so heavy it hurt to use when slider was open. As bad as the ergonomics were, it was constantly dropped. It made the 8700 I had feel light as feather.

I would claim the opposite, unless people got extremely small hands/fingers (mine are not large, can not have a firm grip and fully operate say a Samsung S8-, but can EASILY use the Pro1 two-thumb typing)

But sure if you are dependent on poorly coded apps that only supports portrait, you are right.

Yup metal build and a larger screen all have an impact on the weight. Personally I would have preferred the whole thing scaled down by 10%, to ease one handed portrait operation. But I generally prefer phones over phablets, so that makes me a dinosaur.

...Maybe afraid to mention it because of potential comparisons that would show how much better the BlackBerry keyboards are.
