Nope. No need. I have an iPod Touch if I want something that has "iPhone features". Why have both when your DX can already do everything the iPhone can do and more?
I have an iTouch 3g I can use via my wifi hotspot if I need to connect it to the internet. I don't need the iPhone. Not to mention LTE won't be in my area until 2013 at the earliest by my random guessing (middle of nowhere)...
If its 4g I might try it, but I doubt it will be January. The 4G aircards were only released in Dec. so I'm thinking Feb/ March for LTE phones. I wouldn't try an iphone unless it was LTE.
The first iPhone for Verizon will not be lte, guaranteed. I do plan on buying a VZW iPhone when its released though. Don't plan on using it much though. I'll most likely stick with an lte android.
Steve Jobs has his OS locked down way too tight for me, he tells you what you can and can't have on it. Just like he told people how to hold the Iphone 4...
That's for tethering. Smartphones will still have unlimited data.

How do you know? Sources? The one I posted in the Apple forum claimed lots of 4G iPhones have been shipped already.
I'd be willing to bet, that if a Verizon iPhone comes out in January, it won't be LTE. Also, when Verizon does introduce LTE phones, I'd be willing to bet that it will be tiered pricing.
I've read quite a bit lately saying that it will be out right after christmas. Assuming thisis true and there's no sign of a dual core droid x or equvalent im so picking one up.
i find it hard to believe one is coming out like the "rumors" say. if it was there'd be some sort of news from someone overseas about the chips being produced by now.

The nation's largest carrier announced on Wednesday that it will start offering LTE service on Sunday in 38 cities with two new data pricing plans: $50 a month for 5GB or $80 a month for 10GB, plus $10 for each 1GB over those amounts.
At first glance, the pricing plan that Verizon Wireless announced for its 4G LTE service on Dec. 1 didn’t seem like a bad deal. For $50 you get 5 GB of data, and you pay $10 for every gigabyte over that.
I don't like the iphone. SD said it well. May I add that it is just an app tray that makes calls and takes pictures. My phone is an accessory, and the Iphone isn't hard enough to ride with me. I don't want to have to feel "apple." I enjoying feeling me, and making my phone "me" as well. (personal choice)
I wont consider an iPhone until they get a free turn by turn navigation app like the one on Android. Ever since using the google nav on my X thi is mandatory for any smartphone I purchase.

And none of these sources state that this is for LTE phones. There are LTE aircards and soon to be tablets but there is no mention of Verizon getting rid of unlimited data for smartphones.
