Ha! Ha! HaHaHaHaHaaa! Oh thanks OP and CNET. I needed a good laugh.
Android L a serious competitor. Seriously you must joking.

Please also tell us what you think about what you're asking as well.
I think regardless of what someone personally thinks of Android, there's no way anyone can not consider it serious competition. Its got a sizeable chunk of the mobile space that BlackBerry's also a part of and where they're trying to regain lost ground.
I don't get it.

i think you mean is 10.3 a serious competitor for android L....
I prefer android. I could careless about security. I want the customization of android and the physical keyboard of BlackBerry. I don care much for the one to one ratio

Well put. With the answer being a resounding hell yeah!

The phrasing of this title is ridiculous. It's like saying "Netflix - serious competition to Blockbuster Video?" or "Facebook - serious competition to MySpace?"
I love BlackBerry but they don't exactly "compete" with Android (any version) these days.

What I mean is features+to-features. We are yet to experience 10.3, only leaks, and only some of the full updates on 10.3

Or is it a major updates for android in anticipating 10.3 and iOS8? I dont know, never used android or iphone before. Just bbry, migrating from symbian long time ago

I'd say it's more like "Toys R Us - serious competition to Home Depot?"

I put android L a potential competitor to 10.3 because bbry announce its release before android L. Just curious if they anticipate the 10.3 launching....

I was surprised all these "new features" weren't there before, since my z10 has been doing pretty much every thing on that list since 10.2, just with less colour.
You can tell I've never used an android device before -_-

I don't think they are bothered about it 10.3 to attempt to try and steal thunder. 10.3 doesn't look that exciting to me yet. Still waiting for a big feature announcement but suspect that the Amazon deal is the main one unfortunately.
Also I don't think Android L has a confirmed release date. It's likely to be with a nexus device.

Err did you read it? The only thing existing on 10.2 is the lock screen and a lesser version of the notifications.
Also balance existed for those on bes. That's 3 out of 9

Apple and google are really picking it up with android L and ios8 just by looking at the previews.
Hopefully 10.3 can wow us. So far only blend is the wow factor. Ios8 and android already have their versions of blend laid out.
I look at windows phone getting new apps everyday and I look at blackberry and there is nothing coming in app wise
Since seeing android L and ios8 im getting disappointed with blackberry..

Picking it up, fumble, turnover, BlackBerry with possession. BlackBerry looks to be going all the way. Touchdown BlackBerry!!!!!!!!!

The Android and iOS update cycles have been pretty consistent the last few years. The new OSs are announced in the summer, then released in the fall alongside new hardware (latest iPhone and Nexus phone). I don't believe Android L was developed in anticipation...it just followed past years' pattern.
You must be living on a different planet than the rest of us.

The sad part about your statement is that BB is already ahead but no one seems to care.
Don't like that part that says some apps can bypass security features looks like a backdoor for somebody to exploit.

The sad reality is no matter how good or bad BB10 OS is if it doesn't have top tier apps it won't succeed in the consumer market.
Z30 and loving it!
While we BlackBerry users know what we have and how great the BlackBerry OS is, and always has been, unfortunately, it is BlackBerry that is playing catch up and not Android.
Uhh broken/incomplete core/inhouse apps does not count as ahead.
All they need to do is fix their own apps, Link, Clean up App World and open up their API then I will be happy.
Hopefully in then new sdk in a couple of weeks they have opened up the API.
I was told personally from the dev team all core/inhouse apps will be updated so hopefully theyvfollow through.
