    On the back part of the screen half there is like a plastic film back there, am I suppose to remove this?

    Yes, it is supposed to be removed. This was confirmed by motorola and discussed in threads over at droidforums.net

    It doesn't have to stay on, no. It's meant to be removed. Some (such as myself) have kept it on, others remove it. It's part of the retail packaging, but I provide the firm friction it provides when sliding the keyboard out, so I've kept it.

    That is great. I removed mine and it looks so much better. I have not noticed any difference in slide resistance.
