I know the G2 won't have the Sense UI by default like the Desire Z/HD will but I definitely do like the look of it and hope a port is made for it quickly.

I know I'm going to get crucified for this but.. yes I will be giving up my 9700 for the G2.

This will be my first android device and the specs for this phone has me sold (particularly the processor & gpu). Only thing that has me iffy is the 1300 mah battery but.. whatever. Anyone else interested?

I'd be more excited for the MyTouch HD, as well. The rumored specs smoke the G2. I'm not giving up my Vibrant any time soon, but new phones are fun to look at.

Side Slide keyboards have always been iffy to me... I would prefer either a virtual keyboard or a candy-bar BB style keyboard!

I'm excited for the G2, but I love my 9700. The way I figure it, when my contract for the 9700 is up (July 2012), the G2 will be old hat. No sense wasting my money now.

Believe it or not, a lot of people prefer Vanilla Android. I would rather have Vanilla Android than any skin available.

EDIT- I would also like to say, that if you root I can guarantee Sense will be ported to this device. It will be pretty easy to port over a Desire Z ROM tot he G2, since it is basically the same device.

the G2 does look like a good phone but the graphics on it sucks see the benchmarks on android central. it might have gotten a high score anyway because Android's runs better on a Snapdragon CPU, because that what it was built and tested on. GPU is something different.

JIT works the best with Snapdragon. These other processors (OMAP, Hummingbird) are just "naturally" faster and more efficient.
