Not wanting to start a debate but found it interesting that when I was SBF'ing my phone this weekend it said 4G OMAP processor in RSD Lite in the Info box during the SBF Process. I have seen all the forums arguing about the X being 4G or not. Any thoughts?
And according to the schematic it does have a 4G radio:
AP isn't far off base man. That chip CAN run a 4G radio, if equiped
I'm not saying he is far off base. But WHICH 4G chip is is talking about? All it says is 4G. It does not specify which radio or types of radios it can run. Unless it has them all? But that still doesn't negate the fact that this would have been brought up a long time ago if the DX actually had the chip needed.
He is just reading the article literally. No AVT, the X will never have a 4G experience. The omap chip referred to in the links (your device) CAN run a 4G radio if equiped. I think this is the reason some people get confused.

I wasn't arguing the fact that the chip doesn't have the capability. I am just saying the Droid X will never see 4G, ever. If the radio was there, we would have known by now.
It's what I have been saying since my first post in this thread. I would like to know which 4G radio the processor supports though.
he he, no one said you said he was far off base, and yes, no one is saying the radio is 4G. It is just an interesting topic with some interesting reads.
They will NEVER make the DX 4G capable through a firmware upgrade. VZW is not stupid. LTE will make people buy new phones. It would be awesome, but it will never happen.
