No, you check through Cobalt's BlackBerry Manager. It let's you know when an update is available as soon as one hits the Play Store.

@cobalt: hope you can. I downloaded the latest hub+ services (infrastructure) but instead of an apk file, it downloaded as a .bin file and does not install like other apk files. also related: the reason for the hub+ beta version is because the PW Keeper and Privacy Shade is saying to update the hub+ services through Play Store. If I update through the recommended way, it refers to the GP store.

It downloads as a bin file? No idea how that can happen.

hmm I'm not sure how it does that. I am on the Google Pixel 2XL. On the page it says apk, but once it finishes, it's a .bin file.

Glympse doesn't work in the patched version because the signature has changed and the Glympse API key doesn't match. That's the downside of the patched bbm.

All others bug's are same in patched or unpatched version. Emtek must fix that.

Not sure if that can be done. The file shows .apk, but when it is ready to download it converts to an alpha-numeric .bin file.

    Two suggestions:

    1. use BlackBerry Manager to download apps. The apps in the web-repository are not the latest versions.
    2. Change your browser from Firefox to Chrome. The .bin issue seems to be a browser problem.

if I delete hub and BBM and install from play store, will that work? I figure I will just lose the non subscription part and will have to subscribe?

I believe the spark only works if you are running the BlackBerry Launcher, and have the app icons on one of the launcher panels.

That's correct. And to answer the other question: If you install bbm from Play Store, you won't get any messages in the patches Hub.

I will try using Chrome instead.

When I use the Blackberry manager program to update hub+ services, it refers to GP, but by doing that it logs into the trial period of the apps, with ads. I read to try updating the beta apps through the repository.

Update: chrome worked for the download, however the app could not be installed/opened.

Please read the instructions on the Github page. Remove all BlackBerry apps. Then install all apps from BlackBerry Manager. Do not open Hub+ Services to install the other apps like Calendar. Stay in BlackBerry Manager to install all apps.

update. Have deleted both hub and BBM and reinstalled via BlackBerry Manager app but still not getting spark on either for new messages. Still using BlackBerry Launcher and both apps on home screen.
What if I delete both and install both from Play store, will that work OK and just update from play store in future? Main reason I installed all this was to get the BlackBerry keyboard on my Note 8. So hoping I can do this fix to get spark notification and still have the keyboard. Will this cause any issues?
