Anyone knows a good way access Google (Gmail, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube etc.) while traveling in China?

Every time I go there connectivity becomes difficult though not due to network issues, rather censorship.

No way to do that unless you are using a VPN and even that is now becoming more and more difficult. The Great Wall is impressive and I'm referring to the invisible one.

I just came back from China last week and I was able to use NordVPN with no issues. Didn't seem to work on my phone (BBZ30) or my son's iPhone 6, but worked flawlessly on my Samsung tablet and Nexus 7 (2013)

Yes, it's hit or miss now. I haven't been to China for a couple of years but my wife has colleagues who are constantly trying to figure out ways around the problem. Some work for a while and then get shut down etc. My advice to anyone regarding this is to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Actually, I have survived for months without Google and I'm sure everyone else can as well, after all 1.4 Billion others there do.

For people suggesting using a VPN, last I checked they were illegal in China. Has that changed? If not then you would be accessing sites that are illegal there. Is Google that important?
