Ah I see that now. So I've got to manually run all my apps, one by one, laboriously through your patch program - bummer. Snap probably does that for me automatically, hence the reason I don't get nags. I donated for Snap so I might donate for yours if I like it, seems like a hell of a lot more work to get it going than with Snap though.

Read his response. If you want it to be more like Snap then just don't install google play services. If you want everything to work as if you really were on android install play services and patch the app. It's not that hard. You really don't have good functionality with a lot of apps with Snap. No ability to log in to google, can't use maps, can't connect a game to play games.

Are you sure? I've got Google Maps working great via Snap.

I've got zero desire to play Google games or any of that junk, thanks anyway.

Another app trying to access the maps api has to use Google play services to do it. My banking app uses this to show me a map with nearest locations, atms and whatnot. This flat out does not work with just snap. No, it doesn't bug you about needing google play services with just snap, but also it doesn't work completely.

You only have the basics working with Google Maps. To get the full functionality of GM you have to patch the app as stated. I, personally don't require all the functionality, so I don't need Google Play Services, but most other people do.

Install and register with 2.8.
Install Play Services v10.
Update 4.4.4 over 4.3.3 (but don't open).
Install Play Store v6.
Install whitelist 1.0.0.6.

If an app requires Google Play Services:
Download app with Cobalt's Play Store (but don't install).
Whitelist unpatched app.
Patch app on PC with Play Services Patcher 1.6 using defaults settings.
Install patched app.

No, you can have them both on your device (why anyone would is beyond me) at the same time. Snap won't work if you have 10.3.3.xxxx OS.

I just installed the Apkpure app on my Passport. Works good even notifies me of updates.

Paid for Snap v3 too but oh well.

I guess I'll stick to installing the app via Google Play Store that I want on my rooted Moto X. Backing up the apk with Titanium Backup and reinstalling the apk on my Passport.

Check out Yalp Store from the F-Droid repository. You can download and install the apk then use Google Play (at your risk). I've been using it for awhile now and rather like it.

It's actually worse than that.

The DEV 10.3.3 OS came out on May 31, and the developer was made aware that Snap no longer worked.

That's over 8 months without a fix.

I knew about the Dev OS just wasn't sure when it came out. Besides, I can't count that far back

I'm not a Snap user, and I also get that people have other commitments, but this developer continues to charge money for this app. I would think he has some responsibility to fix it. He's also had since May 31st to do so.

So, you pay over the odds for an app (I paid over the suggested $2.99 to support a BB10 developer) that crashes due to the fact the developer couldn't be bothered to update the app to run on 10.3.3 despite having the dev OS since May; who further ignores all complaints and requests for refunds or fixes and refuses to communicate about any progress over the 75+/- days since the app went down and yet you don't complain. Hmmm.

If it's his personal life, then fine. All he needed to do was say "personal issues" in his last tweet from 63 days ago. Most would have accepted that initially and moved on but he's had the opportunity to have make his bed properly, he's chosen not to and he's being called out on it. What's wrong with that?

Totally agree. People here are paying for this app and not realizing it doesn't work. I've sent the Dev an email explaining this but he still has not done anything about it. Really shameful if you ask me.
