How to use file sharing apps like SHAREit, Xender etc
You might have got bored using bluetooth, or through WiFi Direct( not supported in Z10) to share files or through other file sharing apps because they are not as fast as Android File Sharing Apps like SHAREit, Xender, SuperBeam...etc. Follow these steps and you will be able to use these Android apps to share files must faster.
Note:- I will be talking mostly about SHAREit through out this thread because it is much faster than any other Android sharing apps. And, one more thing I presume that the other device is Android.
Steps :-
1) The main problem that we BlackBerry users face while using these apps is that, we can't turn on WiFi Hotspot unless we turn on mobile data services. This problem still persists. So, I have found another way round.
2) Open SHAREit on both the devices, and ask your friend to RECEIVE file, this would turn on his Hotspot.
3) Open WiFi on your phone and connect to your friend's Hotspot. ( This is a very important step, before doing anything in SHAREit app you must connect to your friend's Hotspot, otherwise SHAREit will not recognize the other phone).
4) Now return back to SHAREit app, tap on SEND select the file you want to send now press the go button ( i.e tick mark), and there you will be able to see your friend's icon, click on it and you are GOOD TO GO.
5) Now a window will appear which shows the status of file that you are sharing i.e how much data has been sent.
6) Now suppose you want to receive a file, then :
Window in Step 5 appears on the phone of both parties, ok?
At this stage, ask your friend to NOT press the BACK BUTTON, I repeat ask your friend to NOT press the back button.
7) On your friend's mobile, you will see SEND FILES, ask him to send you the files through this only, Otherwise you will have to repeat Steps 1-4.
8) SHAREit will not ask anything, it will just start receiving files and you will get the files easily.
NOTE:- Even if you want to receive a file, you will have to send a file first. You can keep a small file of about 100 KB for this job. Atleast Something is between than Nothing.
The basic idea is that SHAREit turn on WiFi Hotspot if you want to receive something and it requires to connect to a Hotspot if you want to send something. If you are using other file sharing app, then you will have to figure out these things, what requires what.
If you found it useful, then Don't forget to Bless me.
