So this is my first Android device and wondering what are your go to apps that you must have?

So far I've only got the basics like snapchat instagram cb android central but just downloaded du battery saver. Seems to be helping keeping the phone cooler and kill unwanted processes.

Unless killing your battery life, you should NOT kill apps. Android does memory management for you. Killing app will only force it to be reloaded from scratch into memory.

For email client i use outlook from microsoft.

    Some personal favourite apps:
    - solid explorer for file manager
    - pushbullet for receiving notification on my laptop
    - microsoft office

VTS for Android: designed to detect if you have any vulnerabilities on your phone. Much more than just Stagefright.

Adguard: works perfectly to remove ads without rooting. Not on G-play store. It has to beside loaded. Google didn't like it.

VOIP type App: Fongo (free with some paid addons). Free number provided based on local area code.
BB Blend Type app: AirDroid 3
Notifications: Notifyer (Shows little count number on app with a number of notifications)
Notifications: Glimpse Notifications (wakes device up when new notifications/messages arrive).
General app: google Now. I have this app and I love it. it gives me weather details on both my home and work locations as well as driving details from/to work/home, whether there's accidents, traffic, etc..
    Alarm: Google Clock
Keyboard: SwiftKey (best virtual keyboard after BB10 virtual keyboard. Has builtin single finger swipe back to delete)
Browser: Firefox with AdBlocker+ and Ghostry addons. Chrome is great and fast but 3/4 of the pages have ads and use bandwidth.
Advanced Interactions type app: Gravity Screen ON/OFF. Allows you to setup the device to wake up when its picked up or screen OFF when face down like BB10.

    Cheers

You can do this out of the box. Explore your contact options.

Are there any recommendations for a video player that is similar to BB10's native player? I have been using MX Player, while very good compared to other apps, I prefer one without ads.
