    Greetings everyone,

So, I just got a new phone and wanted to install the only keyboard app I know, the blackberry keyboard. But, as you know the cobalt project is down. But,,,, as a history man who doesn't throw stuff away. I had the latest APKs saved on my old device. Without more annoying speech, here are the APKs.

    1 Blackberry manager
    2 Blackberry keyboard

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mLC...ew?usp=sharing

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oyl...ew?usp=sharing

Install the manager. regardless of the result. go and install the Keyboard.

Make sure you firewall both apps who knows.

As of now, the servers are down, and you can no longer download dictionaries if you're using a rare language (The English and Russian, among others are included in the above APK). Again, as a historian, I saved the language files for Arabic.

How to install Arabic suggestions dictionary:
1- On a rooted phone, install Titanium backup (free version is fine)
2- Download the files here (3 of them) https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...usp=share_link
3- Put the files in the Titanium backup folder
4- Use the check mark to restore the app data only.
    5- Enjoy
    6- God bless all

EDIT 4/1/2023: I uploaded the Arabic suggestion files. If anybody got other languages, please share.

I believe the keyboard app can run as-is, without the need for the BlackBerry Manager.

Thank you so much for posting the downloads. I just got a new Samsung 22 and been looking where to find the BB keyboard. Do you know what version of the BB keyboard is? Thanks!

No, it's normal. I shared those links without paying attention to the permissions. I granted you permission, plus I updated the URLS.

No wonder I received load of download requests.

The only thing missing in Gboard is the flick. That was brilliant!

Yup. I have gotten accustomed to SwiftKey over the last couple of years. I miss the flick typing, but I do like flicking up to capitalize a letter and the classic swipe back to delete.

I heard that many times. But does SwiftKey has on-keyboard suggestions?

It doesn't have swipe up suggestions, but it does have swipe-back to erase, and word substitution.

Of course, it has a tonne of other features and themes too.

On a side question, if I used an apk extractor on my BlackBerry android, would I also be able to install that on another android device?

Why bother? Just use the available apk.

Yep. The only BlackBerry app for Android that didn't need it. Except to access it from the Play Store. But we have other ways now.

It did need it for 4.x versions, but once installed you could extract the apk which could then be installed by itself - which is how I believe we procured the version thats now floating around.

I haven't been on crackberry in years! Switched to Android but was able to load the BlackBerry keyboard. IMO, still the best keyboard ever. The only thing it's missing is gifs. I have to switch back to the stock Android keyboard to send gifs. But immediately go back to the BlackBerry keyboard for typing. Love it!

Really wish SwiftKey would incorporate flick to type in their own keyboard. My guess is BlackBerry wanted a Bazillion Dollars for that feature... have to wait for a patent to expire. BlackBerry has been letting a number expire as there are fees associated with keeping patents maintained. With the problems with the Patent Sale, maybe this one slips into the "open"?

I hope this patent expiration happens soon. And whoever picks it up, may have a hit keyboard, as this pretty much the best keyboard the masses never knew about.

By the way, at one point I was sending so many gifs, that I was strictly using the stock Android keyboard. For a few months straight. Yesterday I switched back to the BlackBerry keyboard. The easy of use was ridiculously apparent. BlackBerry keyboard for the win!
