I just got a pixel 3 and tried downloading the BB keyboard andnit says no compatible device.
Is there a different version or something I'm doing wrong? The swipe keyboard is one of the best BlackBerry apps and I hate the native pixel keyboard

you need BlackBerry Manager from Cobalt and side load it..
Download from here.

Brilliant
thanks
Hi,
why is a sideload needed? The keyboard App is in the BlackBerry App Suite. Is it incompatible?
Many greetings, Frank
Only BlackBerry's get the keyboard official.
Other brands need to sideload: -)
Well, for spreading these Apps it would be great, if BlackBerry would provide the awesome software keyboard for all android devices, because then the bundle has everything together which is needed.
hi all, i thought i'd try here first.. i have the Pixel 3 and just downloaded the September 2020 Android update, bringing the version to Android 11. one thing i never thought of was - the Cobalt BB keyboard no longer works properly. a few bugs include: can no longer flick words up to the text area (this is especially irritating if the desired word is above the spacebar), and if you click any letter or number twice, like if you want to type google - it will type as gogle - now when you double tap a key, it thinks you want to move the cursor around. I guess all this to ask - does anyone know if there are any patches on the way, to allow the Cobalt Blackberry keyboard to work on Android 11? or am i out of luck?
I've seen others that have had issues with Android 11, but someone else said they tried it and had no issues at all.
We don't know if BlackBerry is planning to make their suite of apps compatible with newer OS are not. There is hope that they will with the new deal with Onward. But we don't know if the consumer apps are part of that or not.
You can try reinstalling the keyboard.... if you can't get it working. Move one for now, and check back in a while.
Oh bummer.
I guess I'll avoid 11 for as long as possible.
I love this keyboard. Every time I do full restart it defaults back to the native gboard, and I hate it.
Most of the Blackberry software is crap, Calendar has sync issues, I don't know what the other stuff even does, but the keyboard sure is good.
If I have to switch, and learn to use the gboard I don't see going back.
Can the VKB make the move to 11 or does it need something from BB itself? Cobalt is the one that updates but I haven't seen answer specifically.
You could also give SwiftKey a try. It's very close. No flicking though.
yeah, i first tried the default gboard... i hate it - i've never used anything other than the BB keyboard with Android. i have been playing a bit with the Blabkberry swipe option, once i gave up on trying to get flicking to work. we shall see.. it's either that or go back to my keyone (or priv).
I've just had upgrade to android 11 on pixel 3a blackberry keyboard seams fine
Lucky... Not me on the latest update to Android 11.
I had to switch to SwiftKey, good but not as good as BlackBerry keyboard. Maybe I will get used to this.
Are you using the latest version, or one of the earlier versions?
hey pjh248 - can you try to identify any unique characteristics that allows your phone to work with BB keyboard on Android 11, other than the 3a, versus 3? what version of Blackberry Manager are you using? do you also use BB Hub+ Services (paid in playstore, or Cobalt's)? What version of BB hub? what region of the world are you in?
Hi

Just like keyboard I'm in England
Cobalt said this about the keyboard on 11 https://forums.crackberry.com/showth...1#post13541941
