Has anyone read about future plans for BlackBerry to make available OS10's browser on android? I will 'eventually' make the switch back to android from my passport, but the browsers on android aren't as good, the hub isn't yet there among other things, so I'm having my reservations in the meantime.

    Anyone know?

They have said nothing about it.

Not sure why they would really, there's nothing special about the bb10 browser

Chrome is better then the BB10 browser these days. Much better.
Only thing the BB10 browser has going for it really is the navigation bar at the bottom

Yandex is where it's at, for me. Bottom URL bar and much faster than Habit.

The BB10 browser has reader mode that gets rid of all the ads and can literally read out the text for you. There is private browser as well.

Chrome has reader mode as well (including pinch to change font size). I use it all the time. You have to turn on the feature on the flags screen. It has private mode too.

Hey Conite. For the life of me I can't get reader mode working. I enabled it under Flags but can't figure out how to activate it when in a Web page. Could you use a website example and walk me through the process? That would be great.

I'm using UC Browser right now which enables me to use a dark background and show text in white but I'd love to use Chrome. It also allows word wrap when zooming the text size in the page. Does Chrome have this feature as well.

When you set it up correctly, you will see a bar at the bottom of the page once the site is loaded. You just have to click it. See my pic.

Thanks Conite. That puts it into a reader format that allows word wrap. Very nice. Is there also a way to set it into the white letters on back background style that the BB10 reader mode has as well?

With all those layoffs, many which were said to hit the software development team, I doubt BlackBerry is going to spend any further resources to create their own Android browser.

BlackBerry's BB10 browser (as well Legacy devices) are the only browsers I can use to access PA's ESS system, myworkplace (my day job has me employed by the state and we check our payroll, schedule our time off, manage our benefits, schedule our training, etc using this site) While I can access the site fine via Chrome on my laptop or PC, I am unable to access it using any of my Androids, including the BlackBerry Priv. Only my BB10 and legacy devices have had success.

Firefox has a reader mode very similar to BlackBerry 10 Browser, a little bit slower but better than nothing.

I miss the bottom/fixed url bar at the bottom of the screen. And the dark (Z30) look / overall feel of the BB10 browser.

I get what the OP is saying. I've loaded several browsers and just don't feel it.
