I've got both on my Passport. Poor connection where i'm on vacation. Only snap manages to download apps. Don't really know why : Google Play store always shows error messages.

It's possible that it's because you have both Snap and Google Play Store running on your device at the same time. It's kind of like having BBM, and then Android BBM both trying to run on the same PIN.

    That's not the problem.
SNAP and the Google Play Store from Cobalt do not interfere.

    Start from scratch.
Remove Play Store and any related app; reboot phone afterwards.
Then redownload apps from post below, follow exactly instructions and do read FAQ!

Verify that you are on OS 10.3 or better. OS 10.2.x is not supported.

In my case, it's just a different behaviour in face of poor connection. When connection is good, both work fine.

An additional info : when you close GPS, it continues to download in background. It still sometimes throw errors into the hub, but if not, it will at some time start installing the updated apps.

Every time I change to a new OS
First I do a security wipe and put back in my apps. The first one will be snap and the Google play service and the Google play store. Next adobe flash player 11.1 next the dolphin browser. To me the Z30 works better on the verizon CDMA. System. Or build better I had my Z30 and my Q10 for a year no problem with downloading Apps or autoloaders the blackberry Z30 was build to use on the CDMA. System .

A new difference I have found, and a major one. I'm back home, so i've got a Wi-Fi access. GPS, like many android apps (all ?) does not see the difference between Wi-Fi and 4G. It will download huge file on 4G, while snap, being native, will make the difference.

    I suppose it's a system issue, but it's Pro snap !

If Wlan is available, the Android runtime always prefers Wlan before 4G. How do you know that it downloaded via 4G if both options where available to the OS?

What I know is that if I restrict to Wi-Fi, and turn it off, it will download anyway. It's like android apps didn't really know what connection they're using.

You can purchase apps on Google Play Store, whereas you can't on Snap.

I know it's an old post, but can't help myself to respond: One can download whatever app one has already paid on Google PlayStore, via Snap. So, it sort of works both way.

    Well, that's not correct.

You may be able to download paid apps with Snap, but they will not all work. Some apps verify, if Google Play Store is installed and they will try to verify the the purchased license using Google Play Store. So these apps only work if the genuine store is installed.

Also, only with Play Store, you are able to buy In-App content.
