Go to Wi-Fi settings tap and hold on your SSID select Edit change your Primary DNS* 109.123.111.24
And Secondary DNS* 192.95.16.109 and connect. You can check YouTube for the latest American DNS settings if this doesn't work for you.

This is truly an over simplification.
You would first need to turn off auto obtain ip address, enter the ip, as well as the default gateway along with the dns settings.
Many users will not know this information.
I'm glad you're trying to help, but at least provide all of the necessary information.

Ok I was confused. This is for the app but it's for situations when you're out of the U.S. Is that correct?

Excellent I'll try this when I get home, does the US Netflix have a larger collection like newer content including everything from UK or just different things?

Could you also explain DNS in simple layman terms?

It will work on ps3, ps4, xbox one, xbox 360....
on the 360 you can jump back and forth by changing your dns from manual to auto and back. it keeps it stored.
On the one, you have to input the dns settings each time unfortunately.

The us Netflix has substantially more than other countries. Each country will have its own selection depending on what Netflix has the rights for in that country.

Essentially, the dns just makes you appear to be in a different country.

ok but let's say in South America, where i've tried using my netflix/pandora and these services aren't available there, it just says i'm not allowed to connect to these services, through pc, mobile etc. So if i fix these settings I'd actually be able to watch from a country in which you're not supposed to be able to use Netflix?

I'd love to conclusively say yes, but I am in a country that has Netflix, so I have no way to confirm.

I use this technique to access the USA selection.

I think the answer though is yes.
    There's no harm in trying.
    Let us know.

For the 360, would it affect the Internet throughout the house at all, or is it strictly on the Xbox? Don't really know how to word the question. Like, would I still be able to log into Xbox love and play a game online for example, without any unwanted problems?

I know this isn't about Xbox, but sadly, I've tried multiple DNS settings to no avail. I get and error code when trying to log in to Netflix on the 360. Anyone else tried?
