So what do u think experience wise because I'm still deciding whether to upgrade to this phone on a 3 year contract.

It's a smooth experience for me. Ease of access to contacts and social networks, web browsing is pretty fluid, the tiles and lockscreen help enhance that "glance and go" feature that Metro UI brings, Zune integration is wonderful since I've been a longtime member and the lock screen/volume controls provide convenience, it's all great. Not for everyone, but it's great for me

I had a Lumia for a few weeks.

Very smooth interface, good call quality, felt very sturdy and well made.

CONS - battery is terrible (really terrible) and I wound up disliking the large size. Also I use whatsapp a lot with iPhone friends and the Lumia would have to restart the app constantly....rather annoying.

To me it was almost there....just a few annoyances that led me to sell it ($350) and move back to BBerry 9900 - Im just a heavy texter/talker.
