Perfect for one handed typing
Microsoft could be planning a whole new typing interface for Windows Phone 8 handsets as a new keyboard design is leaked.
The uniquely arced board was revealed in a Microsoft Research presentation, showing the new design being demoed on an HTC Trophy.
The curved design is reminiscent of wave-shaped ergonomic keyboards and it's been designed to improve typing on phone using just one thumb.

Should be called banana board
The leaked screenshot shows that Microsoft has merged the traditional QWERTY keyboard and phone keyboard to produce what looks like eight keys covering all the letters in the alphabet, plus a few more including enter, backspace and punctuation marks.
While the leaked image has come from a Microsoft presentation, there's no guarantee the keyboard will feature in the final version of Windows Phone 8.
There's hope that it will though, and with the demo being run on a Windows Phone 7 device, the Trophy, the new board may also be included in the Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade meaning current Windows Phone owners could be treated to the sweet curves too.
