Z10 on Wind Mobile?
I know I am one of the few who is on Wind.
Does anyone know exactly when they are releasing the Z10? I already pre-registered but still no word from them!
I am getting really impatient! - 01-31-2013, 10:49 PM

I went on Redflagdeals forum.
There is a guy on the forum that said: "Wind mobile will have the Z10 available the 2nd week of February, awesome news! I spoke to someone at Corporate Store and they confirmed."
Looks like we won't be waiting too long... - 01-31-2013, 11:06 PM #4
damn. my gf just got the 9900 TODAY because she didnt want to wait for the Q10 (she wants keys) and I really dont want to sign a 3 year contract with bell...
but i have 6 months on my current one, so I would need to pay A LOT to get out of it.
How is WIND?
Im paying $85 right now with Bell... would it be worth it to cancel and just go with Wind?------------------------> LIST OF WORKING Android Apps for Z10/BB10 ---190 SO FAR!!! <------------------------

Wind has some really good prices but only if you plan on staying in your zone. I'd suggest looking at their coverage map to determine if it's something you can live with. I've thought about making the switch but I just can't. If I go to a friends house, 20 mins away, it's outside of my zone and then I start paying extra. Eventually their coverage will change and I'll switch, but can't right now.

What cjcampbell said.
However, you can turn off the auto connection so you won't incur additional fees if you go out of the Wind "Home" Zone. You will simply lose signal.
I'd say Wind is pretty good if you stay within city center, but you if go to rural area a lot then I would not recommend it now.
Also, Wind does NOT have LTE right now. They currently operating on HSPA+. Still pretty good speed and can't beat unlimited data! Sooner or later they will switch to LTE and I am quite confident. That is because even Mobilicity has LTE and they are their main competitor right now.
I am paying $40 + tax per month for unlimited everything w/ voicemail and caller ID. Canada-wide calling. You can get it down to $35/month if you sign up more than 3 people under the same account which is very awesome. - 02-01-2013, 05:42 AM #7

Also something you might want to consider is what will happen to the plans. The plan rates might go up in the future but if you sign with them now your plan gets grandfathered and you don't have to worry about charges because their is no contract. If you know how European and Asian phone plans work it's similar.

The wife wants a keyboard so she will have to wait for the Q10 to be released. Still no LTE on Wind anyways.

I'm on Wind and you can get grandfathered into certain deals. I pay $45 a month for the following:
- BES - $5 charge on top of the $40
Unlimited Canada Wide Calling
Unlimited Data
Unlimited Global text messaging
Caller ID
Voicemail
Really you can't beat that. Plus if I travel to the States I spend less than my colleagues on Bell and Telus. Way better travel rates.
The only downside is leaving your zone. But their "Away" zone piggybacks on Rogers Edge Network (so really only good for texts, calls, bbm) and they charge less than Rogers Pay as you Go. Like 15 cents a text and 20c a minute. So bottom line is even if you have to pay for the odd times you leave your city I will never pay what Bell and Telus users pay.
As a final bonus, if I go to Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton, or any other Wind Home Zone. My plan works the same as it does in Calgary. No roaming charges or out of province charge. Not sure if carriers still do that.
I'm dying to get a BB10 though. At least February is much sooner than I thought they would get it. - 02-01-2013, 09:23 PM #17
In the same boat as well, waiting for word of BB10. Been with them over two years.I live well east of the GTA. They have much in common with (now) Blackberry, much malinged by the media and unknowing public / sheeple.

wind can get LTE they just have to build it on there AWS spectrum they want the 700mhz bandwidth in the next auction cause its cheaper, and wind is expanding there network I've been with wind 3 years no real problems and there network has gotten a lot better over the years, people tend to forget its a new company building a network not rogers that has been around for 20 years lol but yes they have there faults but i love my 40 bucks unlimited everything just cant wait for the Z10

Here's what I'd like to know: Is or will there be a Z/Q 10 model compatible with Wind (AWS 1700/2100) AND the big three carriers (Bell/Rogers/Telus)? In other words, a phone that (when unlocked) doesn't technically limit the user's choice of carrier?
Sick and tired of always juggling plans/carriers/phones; how much simpler it'd be to just consider carriers and plans independently of the device. It's absurd to expect a user to repeatedly pay $500+ for the same phone (subsidized or not) whenever they switch carriers. If major brands--like you RIM or BB or whatever you're now-- are intent on cultivating a loyal customer base then make it a design consideration of your products. - 02-05-2013, 08:30 PM #21
The CB Team just posted some news about WIND and Mobi - bascially, no official word yet. Check it out here: WIND Mobile and Mobilicity confirm they're getting the BlackBerry Z10... eventually | CrackBerry.com
If you look at the comments, there are some rumours (key word, a rumour at this point) that WIND might reserve the phone just for new customers. I hope it's not true (I too am currently with WIND).
