I hear you and I feel the same way.
When it is going to be available at RIM,that's the one I'm gonna go for RFK121LW...I travel quite a lot and the 121 should be OK in most places...with the wind sim or with a local one. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the 9860

i dont travel a lot, in the past year or so i have only been on roaming for about 3 days and only $5. roamed on Rogers 2G with my 9860 as well. os7 is quite good with keeping data usage low with file compression. given that i dont travel too much i dont mind getting the 91 version since it is probably cheaper

I dropped into my local Wind Store yesterday (London, On) to ask about availability...they are expecting delivery of their first Z10's next week. The manager said he'd be receiving six units. He had no idea on which colors were coming so I'm guessing they'll all be black. He started a waiting list & already had five people committed. I'm # six

I called in earlier this week...they didn't have a price yet...all they could say was that is gonna be in the same range as other carriers.
That's not too much info, I know, especially with their TAB...buy-out price (no commitment) in the $650 range...
Don't take it as granted or firm...it's unofficial.

So after reading all these threads related to Wind mobile and the z10 model needed, my question is what carrier sells the 121 version off of contract? Is it Koodo or do they just sell the 91 version or do they sell both or do I have to go somewhere else like virgin?

i got a koodo today, its a 91 version. i dont think anyone sells 121 verison at this point. 91 version does work with wind. version has 91 version as well. i am selling mine if interested:

I like to get my BB from RIM...it's unlocked, unbranded, free of all the carrier bs they like to load on the phones before they sell them.
Somebody should write an app --- "phone decrapifier"--- like the one for new PCs, to help clean the junk and leave space and memory for the useful things......wouldn't that be something?

Another confirmation here. Got a Telus z10, unlocked it, reset it and I have all features with Wind working as we speak. Don't know how it's all working 100%, but I'm not gonna complain!

If Wind is selling the 91 version that means Blackberry has the docs wrong. While it's conceivable that Koodo and Telus sell a version that only unofficially supports UMTS 1700 (for the same reason the Nexus 4 unofficially supports LTE 1700), Wind would have to sell one with official support. Alternately, Wind is selling the 121 version incorrectly listed as the 91 version.

Logically though, BB would have just one model for North American GSM carriers, and a second one for Verizon (and Sprint were they to carry it).
